The Chicago Bears have signed WR Victor Cruz to a one-year contract.

Cruz spent the past six seasons with the New York Giants where he started 53 of 70 games. He recorded 303 receptions for 4,549 yards and 25 touchdowns after signing with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of UMass in 2010.

Cruz was part of the Super Bowl XLVI champion Giants and was selected to the Pro Bowl following the 2012 season. He shares the record for the longest reception in NFL history (99 yards).

In 2014, Cruz tore his patellar tendon and began a lengthy recovery process. He ultimately sat out the entire 2015 season but returned last year and played 15 games for the Giants, catching 39 passes for 586 yards and 1 TD.

Cruz’s best seasons came in 2011 (82-1,536-9) and 2012 (86-1,092-10).
